This is the first batch out of my 65 pound tumbler, rough grind. The pieces i put in had a white rind on it and were not that great quality. Some really nice colors came out though. I can't post photos anymore so heres the link. tinypic.com/55q93m tinypic.com/55qbr4 tinypic.com/55qbyb

Oh my...those are looking good already.
A 65 pound tumbler? WOW..you must get a good deal on grit. How much grit you have to put in a load anyway?.....I been thinking about going up to a 12 pounder...

I can't even imagine trying to fill up a 65 pound tumbler let alone the amount of grit it would take. Bet you buy it by the barrel huh? Those are so cool, I love the color and they look like they are coming along nicely, those are going to be awesome when they are done. Where do you get it? Did you buy it from a vendor or ebay? Sorry I wasn't able to help you figure out why your pics weren't showing up, that one has me totally stumped. Cher

I was gonna ask for a size reference then I saw your garden hose next to it - not realizing that that's the mother of all barrels there too! - WOW - What are you gonna do with them after? Can't wait to see them finished & polished up!

I had it running for 3 weeks, some of the jade is 3 to 5 pounds. I find the jade in the pacific ocean , its about a 2 to 3 hour drive from my house. It takes about 10 pounds of grit for each barrel load. I bought the course grit at miles supply at .58 cents a pound.

is that the stuff that comes in 50 bags and 300 pound fiber drums? i just recently got the Miles catalog and would love to give this family owned and operated company my business, just wasnt' sure if what i was looking at was the right stuff for tumbling.
that is a great price for grit tho!
if you have room to store mass quantities!

When i talked to miles supply they said you can also buy it by the pound. They have silicon carbide from 46 to 300 grit, the only other is aluminum oxide at 600 grit. Tony
