So here's the first heart I've ever done. I have to say, these are not the easiest things to do. My technique needs lots of work.
This is out of the Moganite we bought at Quartzsite.
ETA: My phone camera sucks. This photo looks fuzzy. I'll see if I can get a better picture with a regular camera.

Yes, pattern was from one of the old standard plastic templates we have.

I do like how it turned out and may have to do a few more to get the technique down. Very difficult to do these rockin' hearts, especially on a Genie. The middle wheels are too close together to get the cleave right without messing up the other side.
I did cab it, no dop. It made my finger joints stick after a while, so it took me a while to finish it. I do usually use dop sticks and maybe I'll try one with a dop to see whether it gets in my way or not.
Thanks for the kind words!

Yep that tough grind on the Genie
ya now... I don't do single stone hearts I think the tweaking curve would be steep but obviously seen great stones so little at time if one gets serious in single stone I think S/C wheel is the way to go for cleavage that requires another arbor Crystalite makes a V shape wheel I've dressed a few to that shape
have fun that what its all about!
I keep coming back for seconds that heart rocks !

We have a couple of arbors set up in the saw shop that I can use to do the cleavage in a heart. Just didn't think of it at the time I was doing it and the biggest reason is then I'd have to go in the saw shop and smell that nasty oil smell. That's why Vince does all the slabbing!
