I'm used to seeing chert nodules like this - That I imagined were hollows made by by water, then filled with dissolved silica, but this morning i saw - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ChertSpeculation?

That looks like the ones I find. Was told the nodule was a fossil critter.

My ancient assumption must be wrong for some chert.
The first image above seems to have been a silica jell blob from the beginning that was buried bit by bit.
