I forgot the name and it is Blue Tide. I Corrected my original post. I saw only a few cabs on Etsy from the material. The Mongolian Fluorite is wild and I saw no cabs on Etsy made from it. I don't know how well it will cut and polish.

When I work on new material for the first time, I make a test cab. When I was drawing designs on the better slabs, edges were crumbling. I took the first cut that was thick, had knife edges and no usable pattern on the other side. I trimmed the knife edges, marked a line along the edge and split it with the trim saw. I was planning on making a flat top but the preform ended up at 5.5mm with a good pattern where I cut it, so I will try doming it with my next batch of cabs.

I slabbed the fluorite. The bigger slab was cut thinner than I wanted but is usable.

Moved on to the trim saw. Lots of fractures but the pattern held together. I will need to be gentle working this material. It seems to be soft so that is good.
