My wife inherited a single barrel Callaway Lot-o-tumbler that was her grandfather's. I'm guessing that whoever dismantled it didn't realise that the board and the shaft that goes between the board and the tumbler were part of the tumbler and discarded them somewhere. I'm hoping someone can provide me with the dimensions of these two parts so I can put it back together correctly. Also, according to the instructions that were with it, there is suppose to be double sided tape on the bottom of the board for mounting it onto its base. What kind of tape should I use? Thanks for any help you can provide me.

Pictures would be great, I'd appreciate it. Would you be able to get the dimensions of the mounting board and the shaft that is between them? I was wondering if I should replace the springs or not. What should I look for to know if they need replaced? Thanks for the help, much appreciated.

You usually replace the springs when they break. It's pretty obvious. A 3/4 piece of plywood the size of a cinder block would work nicely. 8"x16" The wooden dowel is 5/16" and is mounted about 1/8" from the back of the frame. They space out the springs from the board with 1/4" nuts.
Edit: You can use regular 3M double sided tape found in the automotive section to adhere the wooden base to at least 60lbs of your choice of concrete or cinder blocks or your basement floor. I used concrete fasteners to mount mine to 160lbs of 12x12 concrete pavers glued together with contractor grade gorilla construction adhesive to raise it off the floor a bit

Clean your room knave !! On second thought rptorman you may want to start with the dowel positioned more like knave 's. Mine is a double bubble so I had to move it for it to act right. Hey knave , I got improved action by spacing the front springs out with an additional nut and longer screws... may be worth a try

HEY! My lap room is for making pretty rocks, not displaying museum quality equipment. . What your rocks don’t have any dust? I’d never get anything done if I had to shine the room every day.

Thanks to both of you I'll get it dialed in. If you want some videos of how the action should be in a (single barrel) lot-o, ask knave

What should I look for to know if they need replaced? Thanks for the help, much appreciated. Double-sided tape works great. I don't know what you have instruction-wise, but if you use tape, paint whatever surface you plan on mounting to with a latex paint before installing the tumbler. That helps to fill the pores and creates a good bonding surface. If you had a new machine, there would be double-sided tape on the bottom of the base. In addition, there would be instructions to mount to (at least) one cinder block to keep it from moving. I used two blocks. I used construction adhesive to bond the two blocks together, and I painted the surface of the uppermost block where I'd be mounting the Lot-O. Once the paint has dried, the double-sided adhesive tape will be more than sufficient.
