I did these with my worn dp 80 grit and skipped the Top 80 bulldozer. The material for these was soft, delicate or the preforms were small. This wheel is incapable of 80 grit scratches. Howardite. I found a pattern on a slab that I liked and it fractured as soon as the saw touched the line. Fortunately it fractured on the line. Horse Canyon Blue Dream. It took a nice polish like Owyhee or Willow Creek. First cab with this material Noreena, didn't fracture and polished ok. Vuggy Morgan Hill Mongolian Fluorite Blue Tide from scrap and it behaved itself

Very nice collection and variety of shapes.
The Howardite, material I'm not familiar with, looks better to than any cabs that I saw online. Does the Horse canyon have bevels on the sides, or is that simply a lighting artifact? I like it. Good to see that you had success with your latest Noreena buy!

The Horse Canyon has a regular girdle and a nice even girdle is challenging enough for me. There's a lot of Howardite listed but the best has the rattlesnake pattern. I picked up a display slab some years ago and only one end had the rattlesnake pattern. I have enough left to make one or two cabs. Silverhawk was the king of Howardite cabs. His family had a connection to the source. search on sam Silverhawk howardite. My wife has one of those cabs.
