After further study. its the size shape of a Connecticut mineral. Sheelite which can be bright orange triangular same shape and can also be Found in this iridescent siderite. garnet i have found only almandine though there are at least 7 types supposedly in CT.Update. under SW color the crystal is Green. compared other was just a red quartz . from same location. Powelite - sheelite family turns this color and looks same. under SW sheelite turns blue. [img

Hey Craigslist produced for me. someone in Trumbul CT. gave away their Geode collection free. with a very large thunder egg. both sides and stand. a wealthey community so guess they wouldn't spend the time trying to sell rather than give to someone who appreciates rocks .

Can you take a better picture of the small orangish piece? It all most likes like orange calcite rather then golden beryl. Golden beryl or helidor is usually nice pale or darker yellow or shades in between or yellow is-white as in beryl a non- gem variety and it is usually not orange I could be mistaken but I have not come across any pictures or reference in any of my books stating any orange beryl. There is a peach color morganite but that’s not it.
“Helidor often fluoresces blue in ultraviolet light, and morganite fluoresces lilac but not always I found. Simon & Schusters guide to rocks and minerals” the best book I have found for identifying gems and minerals in New England.
There is a orange garnet that is found in quartz matrix that is fluorescent that I know of and have. Mine looks like a orange crystal but it’s the way that it broke out of the matrix. I can’t think of the name of it off the top of my head but I will it starts with (E) it’s not a common garnet either

luigisrocks - returning these two posts that got lost at the bottom of the board in the "shout box". I think they go here. luigisrocks: The green rock which appears to be serpentine. can be Malachite. malachite is green, fibrous. this can be well worn.weathered. though serpentine can take many forms with white stripes of quartz running through it. luigisrocks: i found a nice specimen in area of kyanite but is brown and shaped like asbestos crystal. long say 6 inches.metamorphic rock location. fault zone.withfeldspar,chlorite,biotite. the kyanite from there is grey and bright blue.this i was thinking sillimanite?
