I've been collecting rocks and minerals, cleaning them and creating ... stuff ... for close to 50 years.

In rock time (OK, geological time) that's still 50 years, but feels like two weeks.

P.S. I was in an oil company and have collected throughout much of the world.

Cleaning stuff you collected months or years ago has led me down some strange paths. Stuff like "Now, where the heck did I get this and what is it?"

Cutting and polishing same is also a learning experience.
