Since my beading skills are a little more honed than by wrapping skills, I decided to try this again. I started this a few months ago on this stone as it came out of coarse to see if I could even bead around it (as the smaller ones seemed easier to bead around). I took apart about 10 times and started again, this time with a different bead count each time. This is my latest attempt. It is quite large, the colors are a bit off, the stone is an eggshell kinda color with light grey swirls in it, (the color is a little lighter on the whitish side) the beading is silver (which also hides a bit of imperfections in the stone. Now the question: Would you wear, buy, give or sell this? Don't be afraid to comment, I can hear my mom saying "Who would wear this? Why do you waste your time & money on rocks?" So it can't get any worse than that... Thanks for looking

I think it looks really great Tweet, very nice job. How do you do that ? I'm sure you could sell it if you don't want to keep it yourself. I don't tend to actually wear heavier jewelery myself but that is my personal taste but I think it is very pretty. I think that you could definitely sell it. Maybe with a brooch fitting on the back?

I agree with rose. If made as a brooch it would probably sell.
If you make a few, you can make them as buttons as well. Or maybe attach it to a hair clip.

I think it's a very unique way to wrap a stone, nice job on the beading. My thoughts on if it would sell or not aren't worth much since I am only one person and a person who doesn't wear jewelry at that. I can't picture it as a pendant to wear alone on a chain or choker but can definitely picture it as the centerpiece worked into a beaded necklace.

Well I'll be darned Kim, that's what I was thinking of. Kind of reminds me of the old squash blossom necklaces that used to be so popular.
Tweety, I can't even imagine taking that apart 10 times, there must be well over 100 beads in that.

A brooch, never thought of that, that's a great idea - I'll just have to add a few picots around the edges. BTW Cher, just the first row has pretty close to 100 beads in it - thread is cheap, beads are re-usable & patience is a virtue! Now I gotta find my pin backs to put this thing on
Thanks guys

Very pretty! That looks to me like it would be much more difficult than to wrap it. Trish

Tweet, that is a nice piece and talk about labor intensive!! Working with those little beads is a booger bear! I nearly go blind.
Will someboyd buy it? Hmmm, if my mom was still alive and saw it, it would be in her jewelry box as fast as she could get the money in your hand! So, yep, somebody would buy it, no problem!
Great job!
