There's some strange things happening in that stone, a black snow storm. I really like it.

This shape and pattern really bothers my wife. I made a cab from rhodochrosite with that shape and botryoidal vug down the middle she hated that cab. I sold it and someone really liked it and made a pendant.
I see an erupting volcano and had the slab for a long time but couldn't find a shape that properly framed it. I put a very low dome on it to maximize the dendrites which are in layers.
I use imgbox for picture hosting and when a picture is uploaded, the user is given a choice of adult or family content. I obviously pick family. imgbox rejected the load and I changed it to adult and successfully uploaded it. imgbox must have identified the image as genitalia and this why my wife wanted me to recut. I see a volcano and won't recut.

Beautiful and a perfect example of why Montana will always be in my top 5

That's exactly what I saw when I looked at this cab. A volcano with ash falling all over. I really like this one.

I had the standard templates and my only choice was a 40x30 pear and there was so much more to the pattern. I got a new template and it created a lot of design opportunities. An issue when making a cab is trying to use too much of the slab. I can't imagine cropping this design.

Great Montana Moss agate! Thanks for showing it off. That's the stone that got me hooked at the age of 8. MMA is one of the easiest stones to cab because of its consistent hardness. So why do I always cut lots of fractured material? I can't help it. They're so beautiful! Lynn

I don't know how many different materials I've cabbed, but Montana is in the top 20.
I'm kind of frustrated now because there is very little interest in my Montana cabs on Etsy. Montana is not easy. Buying rough from pictures is difficult, figuring out the orientation of the cut is difficult, most of the slabs offered and cut aren't interesting. When a person finds a nice slab there is always the issue of fractures. Fully healed ones still fracture, a slab with nice band of color fractures on the band line. Montana also teaches good technique. Scratches can't be fixed with a finer grit like softer material and I have a hard time seeing scratches until the cab is polished. I knew this one was solid and I spent extra time one each grit so I wouldn't have to go back.
I also cut a lot of material that fractures or has fractures for the same reason as you; Montana, Morgan Hill, Tahoma and most brecciated material.
