Hi earthdog, nice to put a face to the name! You don't look like a goof ball ... you look like someone who is in his glory with all the toys and rocks. *smile* I don't know though, you think you have enough "stuff" yet? hahahaha Bet your wife said no way to using up her space.

I agree, you don't look like a goofball at all. Hey, is that a German flag on your shirt?
Only in my wildest dreams could I have a work area like that!!!

i'd say that looks EXTREMELY well organized. altho there are a few pieces of equipment i'm not sure of...like that yellow base unit with the cardboard box on it..? but, yee haw, nice set up...where's your saw?
let the turf wars begin! i have managed to take over a lot of the downstairs like the Borg. assimilating piece by piece, insinuating box by box...hehehe. i believe i now have more machine things downstairs than hubby does. and my territory expands with each pound of rock! although, i've noticed he's starting to take over the garage.....hmm.

Hey Earthdog, nice set-up - do you get to use the tools you have there? My stuff is piled in a corner under my sewing machine.

Yo Edog, Nice setup. Wish I was that well organised. I'm spead out from the dining room (have taken over the table for setting stones) to the spare bedroom (where my tumblers are) to the basement (about 200 lbs of rough and my saw, which is broken right now). My hubby doesn't have an "inside" hobby like I do, and as long as I sell something from time to time and let him go play in Lowes gardening dept., we're OK. Is the thing on the yellow base your saw? What's between that and the vibe, a lap? And in pic #4... What's up with the socks? Thanks for sharing, cookie

The yellow base thing with the cardboard is my little Home depot saw, I put the cardboard around it, so when I use it, it won't get everything splatered and so chips won't fly. The socks are my old ones that have holes, and I use them for rags, like my old tee-shirts also. Yes that is a german flag on my shirt, I lived in Germany for 6 years total, on and off. I really didn't think my area was that neat and tidy. I didn't shot a picture of where all my boxes of rock are yet either. That is something to see!

A little unnerving that you stack the coarse grit on top of the finer grits.
Nice set-up. I want to be like you when I grow up. Just don't tell the wife, she'd have a fit if she thought I'd take up that much space.

Your work area seems quite organized a place to work in my shop is in disaster phase right now - a clean desk or work area means you don't have enough to do -

WOW!!! You are far too organized!! How the heck do you lose anything in there?
I must say, that after seeing those pictures, I am going to have to get more... equipment!! Thats all there is to it! I still have half a two car garage left!

Hey at least all your stuff is in one place. I have a small corner devoted to rock related stuff in my shop, that even looks somewhat organized, but actually my stuff is spread out though out the other buildings (not to mention outside, heck even my truck has a collecting container to empty my pockets into). Some day it needs to get all in one place (two places would be good).
Oh, and my husband isn't to happy with the grinding wheel (plus rocks to grind) in his shop, But I just kind of sneaked it in there last summer and it's still there.

That is quite a set up you have here, my rock tumbler is sitting beside a sink in the basement, my jewelry work area is the dinning room table and my dad is fixing my trim saw/grinder/buffer in his work shop. Tami

What a set up! It sure looks neat and organized to me. I spend most of my time looking for what I need. I'm always looking through piles for what I need, and everything my husband owns is hanging in plain sight where he can just go get what he needs. I would be great to be that organized. Trish

I wish my work area looked that neat. It only looks like yours for about 10 minutes after a major cleanup and re-organization. LOL - I saw the socks too! Also, saw the rock calendar on the window. And, like a fine connosier (sp?), should I start with the tripoli or the pre-polish. which polish will I use today - tin oxide, chrome oxide, aluminum oxide, or cerium oxide. Did I miss the titanium oxide? Cal

Hey Earth , I like your set-up. it is surely tidier than mine haha. I also should do a bit of spending on more tools haha. eventualy I will get there and look as good a "connoiseur" as you do *smile* I try to tidy up but as soon as it is , I bring in more rocks that need somewhere to rest .

Hey that is cool- I will take some pics of mine this weekend (after I clean it up- cause right now I cant even find the benchtop) I think your wife needs to let you have more space- I didn't see a kitchen sink in there!
