Here are a few photos of our 1st rockhounding trip, My son found the best of all. He called it candy....... I do not know what we found but some of it look nice. Most of it is brown.   This is what my son calls candy !!!! Dunno WHY     Total we have a 5 gallon bucket full of the brown agate and a maybe 5 pounds of the candy. WoW!! Oooo lots of nice stuff. That blue-green stuff in the
second pic is just gorgeous. Wish I could find something like
that around here. It looks like it's kind of transparent too ...
just awesome. Looks like you guys had a great time, good
for you, nothing better than spending time with the kids and
nature.

A good haul.....nice bunch of rocks. Now the fun starts..which one to put in the tumbler first....

you got some great lookin rock there dan and family looks like meveryone was workin hard and it payed off that greenish blue big chunk at the bottom of one of the pics is very cool id say you had a day to be proud off
and theres never to many pics hahaha

Wow that a big pile of rock you got - nice stuff too! Its great to get the kids involved  My son has decided that all the rocks that are in my tumbler (moonstone) at the moment are his...because the postman said so - he was playing in the front garden when the package arrived and the postman gave it to him so now he thinks its all his but has decided to let me put it in my machine |

The place we wnr to was called Gem Hiil, found the site using rockhounding california, ther was so much stuff on the dirt road, all we had to do was pick it up.
My son want to go back and get some more blue agate, he found some but they where very small.

I think your son's "candy" may be a moss agate??Just a guess.
