While in Tucson this past February, I found some African Chrysoprase at a very good price. While looking through a 4’x4’x4’ crate for good color, I kept coming back to a darker green nodule...the only one of that color in the bin. To reach the $5 per lb price, you had to buy 10 Lbs. That nodule put me there. Shown left center in the photo. So I decided to cut it. It has a really nice color but unsure of what it is. The closest I can find by appearance is Maw Sit Sit. What do you think? I know that Maw Sit Sit is only found in Myanmar (formerly Burma). Perhaps it accidentally got tossed into that bin.

The darker green looks like some mtrolite (some dealers have called it "African chrysoprase" though it's colored by chromium instead of nickel) I've seen.

Looks like African chrysoprase, just has more nickel and less magnesite than the others. As rocks2dust said could have some other minerals in it, but chrysoprase would be my call. Definitely not maw sit sit.

Thank you all for the comments. After further research, I agree on African Chrysoprase, sometimes referred to as Mtrolite colored by chromium. It was just such a color difference from the others with the “chrome green”. I prefer the more Apple or turquoise green in Chrysoprase but still a nice rock and different. Thanks again!
