That is some nice BC, it is getting harder and harder to find the nice purples out there. Here is some I tumbled long ago, they look much better in person, too bright out right now. But, you can usually tumble through the bentinite, but sometimes that are small areas that go deep. Those are some nice cutters based on their size, they would make some out standing slabs. Below is a pic of one I cut over the weekend. Tim

Here is a few more I found. The biggest one was over 100 pounds. WOW!!!! Looks like you found a KILLER location!!!! Looks like I am going to have to sneak a GPS tracker on your truck like it did with beefjello.

Lots of different agates in Burro Creek! That's a big place, you dont absolutely need 4or but its safer

Oops wrong button. Those deep purples are hard to find and you usually have to dig for them. Most good areas are now inside the fence on Bagdad mining land. Plus I think the govt is selling more land to Bagdad. Sigh.....

I'm not sure anyone addressed your question about the white grunge. I'm going to guess that like anything it can be tumbled off but not easily. Like the rind on a lot of agates its hard (at least the closer you get to the real agate). If you have the inclination to grind or saw it off first, you will be time ahead.
