Heres my latest dremel work. Most are ready for the lot o but cpl I'm still sanding/shaping a bit.. Mexican moss- Local collected pet wood- Local collected unknown river gravel- Mexican moss- Green zebra jasper- seems the best colors of this slab were super soft areas. Unfortunately this was pretty much all I got from the slab... Unknown- was given as freebie with some purchased slabs. Seems I should know what it is... [img src="http://res.cloudinary.com/mre9065/image/upload/v1588258448/wq59da9k8qx8jyyn5l3z.jpg" alt=" "] Mexican crazy lace- have made 2 other very similar ones from this material but wasnt much other usable material. Mexican crazy lace- Chapenite- Chapenite- this large druzy pocket was smack dab in the middle of the slab but on the backside that wasnt photographed when purchased it. Had difficult time trying to work around it so decided to cut it as the focal point of the cab. Did a very slight dome around the druzy pocket. Think it would look better if clean the rust off the crystals...also no idea how would fare in the lot o. Any suggestions on cleaning up the druzy or how to protect it for the lot o would be much appreciated. Oh, and does anyone see the waving kitten that my daughter pointed out? That's all for now. As always, I appreciate all feedback/Tips/Advice. Thanks For Looking !

oldschoolrocker I am too spoiled. I would not even try cabbing if I had to use a Dremel. I like my 8" wheels too much. Though I have to admit cutting inside curves would be better with a Dremel. What wheels (type and brand) do you use for finishing. Also, what do you use for a water setup?

I shape and sand with dremel and throw in lot o at the 500 AO stage thru polish. Water is gravity feed drip system I made. Very basic...

Heres a pic of my "setup" lol. Water system is the white jug on top the milk crate.. And yeah, If i had something better to use i don't think I'd use a dremel either lol.

oldschoolrocker so what I am seeing is Diamond cutoff disks and and cratex wheels. do you have a valve on the water and just let it drip? Sorry, I basically do all my shaping with 50mm diamond cut off wheels. Usually buy cheapest I can find on amazon bc seems there is no consistency in quality no matter where I get them from. Some are good for cpl stones, others cant finish a stone. Some come with uneven diamond coating causing lots of vibration. Not sure what cratex wheels are but the other bits in pic are mini nova sanding points. Dont use them for much anymore...usually shape with cut off wheel and then sand down with waterproof sandpaper starting at 120 or 180 grit. Either cut out discs and glue to dremel ez loc sanding discs or just sandwich 3-4 together on a regular mandrel with a screw. Then cut off the top layer as it gets used up.

Fantastic! Those red crazy lace are killer! They ain't easy to do. I've never had one that didn't want to fall apart at the seams. The rest are super, too, and your framing on the chapenite is spot on.

I have a valve on the water and also a little chemical metering tip in the end of the tubing which helps slow the flow so can go from a drop a second to pretty much a steady stream of water in drops.

I should add- I like your shapes, too. I assume they are free hand?
I wonder how many people are wondering why they ever bought a cabber after seeing what you, miket and others are doing? LOL!

Every now and again I will use a cab I've done prior to trace around. But normally just sketch out a shape. Some turn out obviously better than others tho lol.

I tend to do alot similar to the pet wood shape but rarely comes out how I wanted. But was pretty happy with this ones shape , which is why I included it since the cab itself is not all that interesting. Will likely use it to trace around in the future.
