Hi all. My daughter is having a baby the end of June and the theme she is using for decorating the room is fish. So I started out wanting to make a mobile for the baby's cradle but changed my mind and came up with this. Pet fish that never need feeding or cleaning. They're all agates and I shaped them on my grinder. It only took about 20 minutes to shape each one. They look a lot better in person. There is one made from a bluish agate with a yellow spot right where the mouth is, but unfortunately I didn't get a good shot of it. Just another idea for using rocks in a project. Oh yea, the rocks on the bottom of the bowl are ones I've polished in the past. Enjoy, Ed

Ed, Very cool looking! Are those real plants, but rock fish? I am thinking if the plants are plastic to put a few drops of clorox or something to keep the algae from growing in it.

Hi all. Thanks for the kind words. I had a lot of fun making these and setting up the fish bowl. My daughter has 2 large aquariums and has already got plans on how to make this fish bowl stay clean. For those who are going to try this, be careful cuz I started to shred the edge of my 280grit Nova wheel while shaping the fins. And the eyes are just a dot using a sharpie permanent marker.
Happy fishing, Ed
