I got a small piece of rough as a throw in on an order and decided to slab it today. Any idea of what it is?

Looks like agates found in Western NM, in the Luna/Apache Creek area.

Color is off. I have a red/green color deficiency. Actual cab looks more pink than blue, but it might just be a lighter gray.

That's got to be challenging at times. A coworker of mine also had that condition and, I suppose, you must also react to Stop & Go traffic lights based on position.

What I have is different than color blind. I can tell bright red from bright green. I have trouble with brown/olive or blue/gray. During the draft, I took the draftee physical and the color vision test was stick my head in a box with basically a stop light and I passed. I took a Navy physical and the color vision test was a red light, a green light and a white light and the box was some distance away. I failed and the Navy had no interest in me because of electronics and signal lights. I enlisted in the air force and someone transcribed by 0/15 score as 15/15 and they wanted to send me to school as a photo interpretation specialist which was good since it meant that I could pick my own training program. I wanted computer programming and got computer operations which helped me get my first civilian job as a computer programmer.

Thanks for sharing. How fortunate that someone made an error in your favor that helped to eventually launch your career!

Looks like it might be a cross section of a Succor Creek thunderegg. I'll see if I can find a pic.
