Yep I do put a lot of effort into this craft Like to think labor of heartiness Its kind of like writing a novel, I suppose It my baby. An idea I had. A craft. And its taken me a long time to try and master it . I’m feeling honed in!
Almost lost the opportunity. I got a second wind and I’m not going to fail. Is it worth it? Who knohs! We all have lots of polished stones. I know- I have lots of heart ha ha
Anyway it’s a long process. Like a novel. I’ll keep on. I don’t mind. I like to grind. Always have. Its in my marbled blood/
I got a more to say so later Now I'be got to get my nose back to the grindstone
Thanks Man I appreciate it!

Over a very long time, I probably made two hearts. One piece and did an ok job. Do you do two piece because it gets better results or you like matching up the material? I've thought about making frankencabs using different material but haven't got around to it. I've had an inferiority complex about the craftsmanship in my work, but I have been doing so much grinding lately I am pleased with my work. I am more interested in the design than the cutting but the cutting has become better and more efficient. Many cabs have issues and I enjoy the problem solving getting things to work.

Right on Pal The short answer is I wanted to do hearts pendants its a long story but Its an old family tradition anyway what good is heart if it can't be hanged? & drilling that tiny hole for the eye-pin was way beyond mohs meagre means. I don't know how it happened but I just figured I 'd build a heart and zip a groove and it worked and one day I held one very strange caddywhompis combo in me hands and Eureka I have something here ! and its been a quest ever since.... mohstly

Right on Mike
I probably have 5 hours in crafting this one Easily Lot of that time was in profiling the 2 halves Trying to rough cut the excess on my tile saw Usually lead to heartache So its lot of profile grind
Plus bending that dome was also a good hour of grind time
anyways Keep stumbling on new tweaks to the technique Know this is something you do & know too
Guess that the nature of rock crafting As the techniques get more refined the mind grinds new designs, I suppose
keep on and thanks

Wood can be tough to ID, as it is so different depending on where from. I have pet wood from AZ, CA, ND, NV, NB and WI. All have their own special look.
I love the stuff I collected in AZ. So many different looks and colors.
