Looking good so far llana!
I have seen a similar table at my Dentist. Only the rocks are not "glued" down. In the table they poured white sand, and let the rocks sit up on top.

Llana that's great, can't wait to see it finished. My daughter wants to do something similar with the smaller agates we've been picking up. Be very interested in how you do it.

I have been waiting for the product data sheet and the MSDS data sheet and the store was supposed to fax them to me but so far no luck, But I did find out that the brand name was Graham acrlyic finish 18.00 a quart and 55.00 a gal. Try at a local paint store and they may have a simular product it amounts to a water varnish. just make sure it goes on clear and will stay clear and you should be ok

Warren, Are you thinking Varathane? They have an excellent water based exterior varnish
To help you decide llana....
Water base doesn't yellow Oil base yellows
Oil based brings out the grain in your wood Water base doesn't bring out any grain

Warren, I have a product called casting resin I got from the crafts store and also another kind of resin (can't find it right now, so don't know what the name of it is.) I used the casting resin on a paperweight I made. I wasn't happy with the paperweight, but the resin wasn't the problem. BE used the other stuff on the crosses she made and it worked great. So, no problem on what to use on it. Problem is finding the time to finish it!
