Here's one in progress, freeform dremeled as always. Something funny, after I cut the slab with the dremel I decided I liked the bottom pattern better than the top part that was showing- and the top became the bottom, making it already flat. Anyway, enough rambling- anyone know what this is? Slab and cab. Thanks!

I'm not very good at figuring out the Mohs yet- but I can say not as hard as an agate, so I'd have to guess 6? It was fairly easy to work.

Agreeing with Picasso Marble Thanks Tommy- I'll look it up, but I'll go ahead and ask. Will it survive tumbling and does it take a good polish?

I have had fair to very good finished polish with Picasso. Haven't tried to tumble but would recommend tumbling with Mohs 6 or less hardness.

Marble in general is well known to take a beautiful glossy shine, but Picasso Marble from Utah can be hit or miss. We collected a bunch of it a couple years ago and out of the same batch from the same collection spot I had some that took a beautiful shine and some that didn't.
Tumbling I would have to defer to the experts but I would imagine that would be challenging to tumble because of variable hardness and undercutting - ie: managed media and not tumbled with agate hard materials.

I have a few smaller pieces, scraps I guess, maybe I'll throw one into my rotary and see how it behaves. I tumble mostly agates and don't have much of anything with Mohs 6 or less.

Ok, thanks for the advice Tommy. I guess I'll roll the dice...hopefully I can get it, I really like the cab.
