Llanna threatened to do it, but now I can give you the real deal. What happens when you have one bored woman on her day off, some copper wire and a need to create something, even if it goes horribly wrong? (Violins from the shower scene in Phsyco) Be ready to look away.... COOKIES FIRST WIRE WRAP!!! A side view Have your air sickness bags at the ready.. The Back! I had no clue what I was doing, I started with the bail. I'm actually working on another one now (with the help of some simple instructions) that isn't half bad, in comparison, that is cookie

Cookie, I like the front & the side, the back I think is a little too twisty, . I think the best how-to was Banjo's - lay wires next to each other to start, & lay wires around the outside of stone, then bring in the wires across front & back of stone to "hold" stone. then work the bail is always a good start. Sorry if my opinion wasn't wanted... but like I said I like the front & side (mine wasn't very good either) You have lots of nice shaped stones to work with though... lucky you!

dat rock sure ain't gettin' outta dat cage, sweet cookie. but i have to admit, you got moxie (as Doc sez). my first dozen wire wraps looked a LOT worse than taht, so i gave up, basically. you keep trying, cuz i think you got it in you with some more practice.

In my own defence (and Tweety I KNOW how bad it is, I put it up for a laugh :0 I was trying something that just came to mind. I braided the wire and then wrapped the stone with it. That's why there is so much wire, I just kept pulling and wrapping till there wasn't any wire left. I just made my second, it's big and gawdy (what did you expect, small and delicate?) but it's much better. Come on guys, at least tell me it's funny. Thanks KD, I got it (moxie, that is) in spades!

I just found my first wire wrap in a drawer out in the shed (hmmmm... wonder why it's out here?) We seem to have very similar pieces of work. Mine just had less wire and a stone hanging on for dear life, suspended by random wires wrapped in some sort of undetectable pattern. The bail is also similar since it seems I used all the left over to secure the loop. By looking at it I'd say I had a lot of leftover because the number of winds around the bail reminds be of the coils found in an electric motor. If I think of it maybe I'll post a picture. Yes it takes courage to reveal yourself like that, but it is kinda funny Looks like a little copper fishing net.

Hey, Cookie, my first wirewrap looked a whole lot like that! Only problem is, I have never gotten to the "this is a little bit better" stage! LOL! Yoj did a great job on the second one.

Cookie, That's how it's done HUH?!?! At least you can laugh about it now, but in no time I'm sure you'll have it mastered. Sheesh...don't feel too bad, I can't even figure out how to post stinking pics.... Keep up the great work, and it really is pretty good for the first one. Of course, that's coming from me who has never even attempted this sort of thing! Steve

The front looks really cool, back needs a little work, but the front looks like a basket. Tami

Damn I liked it- Kinda like a maze of wires with no way out! I give you 9.5 for Moxie (you got guts girl- and that is what counts) a 9 for style- a 9 for color match- and a 7 for the back (shoulda stopped at the front and side views) Hey I wish I still had my first attempt- I think the rock eneded up in the driveway? and the wire is now sevring duty as landfill! I gave up then and there!
