I worked on only this cab. I tried making another preform on the trim saw using a lesser pattern and it fractured. I worked this one gently and it held together. Just an ok pattern but the material worked well and took a good polish. I'll slab the rough tomorrow from the small end it looks like it has more potential.  |

I love the pattern and the way you framed it, very nice. For me, it's all about the framing. That is my comfort zone. I would always prefer to have a great pattern to frame. I'm hoping I have some when I cut the slabs. Before I bought the rough, I checked Etsy for Royal Flamingo cabochons to get an idea of value. What I saw was more interesting but framing might be more challenging. |

Sometimes there is no right answer. I made this one and thought it was clunky. I thought about cutting it down but decided I would still end up with clunky. The more cabs I make the more skill I develop so I get something out of every cab.  |
