Using up the last of the half hard wire, dead soft is on the way. Again, not sure if I like the loops on the Desert Queen (?) and the stone in the Crazy Lace wrap is a little off-center- it's a small one, about an inch tall. What can I say, I'm still learning!

Those look great. I am glad you ordered the dead soft wire, hope you like that better. I'm not a fan of the loops on the first one just because they seem to detract from the stone and look like an afterthought rather than part of the design of the wrap. The Crazy Lace is just that, crazy...lol. It doesn't look off-center to me. Hmmm, maybe I'm the one that's off center...lol.

I already clipped and tucked the wires on the first cab, I think it looks better now. And you were right, it was an afterthought. Unfortunately, most of my wraps are- and sometimes they show it, sometimes they fall together. No, you're not off center on the Crazy Lace. The more I look at it, the more I think if I push the wire to the right directly under the bail it should fix it.

Agree with drocknut. Glad you clipped the loops. Just nudge that right side wire on the crazy lace a little more over the top of the stone and you're golden.

I envy people who can plan out a wire wrap ahead of time. I try but most times it looks nothing like I planned when it's finished.

I actually like the first one much better than the second.
1/2 hard has definite uses. If you are working a piece with a lot of corners, 1/2 hard is best. You can get nice crisp corners that won't round out on you. I use both 1/2 hard and soft depending on what I'm doing.

Thanks, Tela. I'll keep that in mind- and hopefully I can remember all of these little tips that you're gracious enough to share...

They look great, Mike. In my opnion, the top one is the best wrap I have seen you do to date. I like how it is done with different wire, a lot.
