Hi! I collect rocks, fossils, artifacts, minerals, all things rock. Also sticks, metal, glass, and bones. Rocks and bones are my specialty. I make jewelry out of rocks, (and sometimes bones etc as well) for the bones I collect dead animals I find or just bones in the wood or on the side of the road, bury them, and wait for them to not be icky anymore soak em and display. I dabble in a sort of taxidermy but not real taxidermy just my own way of doing it. Not formally trained. Not really taxidermy but I don't know how else to describe it. With rocks etc , I'm a creek girl, find em, cut em, grind em, drill em, polish and put some chain etc.and there you have a necklace. I'm self taught and I mess up a lot lol been doin it awhile so it's not so bad now. Lol anyways that was long winded. Hi everyone!

Welcome from the Desert Southwest! Its odd that you mention picking up metals, because I do the same. Electronics too. Don't know why, just try to find a creative use for it some day I guess. Your bone hobby interests me. I never gave it a thought. But I guess if you get enough bones, you can Gorilla Glue together your own skeleton animal. Living in the Desert, I see a LOT of bones in the field. I could probably have a few dozen bone animals decorating my yard by now if I'd given it any thought. although a bone Antelope might scare off the neighborhood kids; best put that one in the back yard.
Maybe you could photograph some of your rock creations and post them online if you find the time. We love photos.
