So I just bought a 10in tile saw. Harbor freight and I can't remember what blade but it's a granite porcelain blade. I've never used a tile saw. I have a hi tech diamond 6in or 5 in saw and a hi tech diamond flat lap I have used for 20 something years. The new 10 in saw tat I bought on a whim as a retail therapy thing and got it delivered and it's huge and heavy and I'm kind of scared of it. I tried to cut some smaller rocks in half. A couple geodes etc and every single rock I cut binds up. I don't like that. It Wil get almost to the end ahd then binds up. Why??? How do I fix this? Your help is greatly appreciated!

Hand or auto feed? What kind of blade? Water or oil cooled? My 8 inch trim saw is cooled with water and I use an additive; lube-cool from johnson brothers and I'm going to try water-aid from rock peddler which is cheaper.

Hand feed. Just water. I've always just used water. Black widow micro segmented 7mm diamond coated rim. It was recommended by another person I know that uses same saw and cuts harder stuff like I do. Jasper, agates. I was cutting quartz and granite. I was scared to cut anything else haha

With out changing the blade or adding a water additive, try rotating the rock against the blade instead of pushing straight through until you are near the middle. I recommend a water additive. My auto feed slab saw kept binding and I eventually figured it was because of dirty oil resulting in not enough lubrication between the rock and the blade. I removed some sludge from the saw and added some fresh oil, not drain and replace. The water additive improves lubrication between the rock and the blade. Tile saws and trim saws are designed to cut thin material. I used my trim saw for about 10 years to cut small rough. I use an Mk303 blade and the only real issue is blade life when cutting rough.

Make sure the blade is square to the sliding tray. I have the diamondback 10in saw from them and out of the box it was way off. Dumb me didnt think to check before started cutting and it would bind up when blade got deep into a cut. After squaring up the blade it cuts much better.

Yep. Binding sounds like alignment or pushing to fast against the blade. On a normal slab saw, you can spot binding due to alignment because the specimen wedges in the incomplete cut and the vice does not pull back easily even when saw is turned off.
