No problem. To me, the cell structure confirms it. The shape has more to do with how it traveled and from where. Just another rolling stone... Thanks for posting.

We have one here that's a similar shape. Can't recall what type of bone the fossil guy in our club said it was.

Another question what would either you have for a suggestion or thoughts on leaving it whole and polish the entire stone or do half polish and the other half leave natural Or I could cut it half and polish both halves like a geode. I can’t bring my self to cut it up for cabs unless it should show some interesting colors and patterns after polishing it but really doubt I would cut it up even if it did. I have not seen one like this shape before usually they have been broken or they have very rough edges and uneven. Thank you for any suggestions you may have

I agree: whale bone. Quick shot of wet rough collected on the beach near San Luis Obispo, CA.

That looks pretty nice and with color to boot. Nice Thank you The color's off -- it was a quick image with an unfamiliar camera. It's basic brown like most of the whale bone I've collected.

Bummer had high hopes for that dark green vein in mine oh well it’s a still a nice piece to add to my collection
