Something to think about: A three legged stool is always solid. Think before you act. Be persistent if you are sure you are doing the right thing. It is hard to keep going if there are no rewards.

Why does there have to be a REWARD to qualify success........?....particularly when dealing with accountability and discipline, which are personal choices.
Accomplishment, satisfaction, fulfillment may be the "rewards" that are gained, but not in the true sense of a REWARD, especially when combined with success by making the proper, correct, good, or right choices dealing with accountability and discipline.............Just a Thought

My 2 carats: the rewards are what keeps us going. If we have discipline and accountability because we are told to, or to fit in With our peers, it will run out of steam, the stool will flop over. In your accountability and discipline, leave some room for doing what you enjoy and thrive on. Not necessarily a participation trophy for every little thing.
