Does not matter- Something about the paste drying on the skin removes the sensation of itching (the firmer you believe this the better it works) You are tricking your mind in believing nothing is there (it works great on kids!) The other trick with toothpaste is to leave a good layer on it (yes it is sticky and smelly) but I carry a tube with me everywhere!

I can't tell if thats some Gneiss Schist, or that Schist is Gneiss. All I know is don't take it for Granite
