Still a newbie but making progress. Here's a SD Prairie agate I'd been working on. First rock i took from a rough rock to a slab to a cab.

Oh to clarify, I started making cabs a few months ago but this is the first I took from a raw rock and cut a slab and then turned in to a cab. The others I started out with slabs already cut.

That's a beautiful cab. Most of the prairie agates I've seen (first hand, not posted here) have subdued colors and are quite boring. I think you've changed my mind!
