as most of you know the northeast has been experiencing some august-like weather (hazy, hot and humid) and it's only the middle of June. now don't get me wrong, i love the summer time, but they don't call us snow birds for nothing. too hot for lawn chores so i hung out in the cool of the basement and finished up some things i've been working on. some of these i think i posted before but i finally got around to finishing some of the back sides. upper left to bottom right: black and white agate of some sort, ocean jasper, and what i think BearCreek said was flame agate (the square one), then some leopardskin jasper, some stuff i'm not sure of, but i think i got it from Brett, then a gorgeous piece of amethyst sage and a nice piece of laguna agate. bottom row is porcelain jasper, a tiny piece of agate and another piece of ocean jasper. here are a few close ups...here is the leopardskin again and the porcelain jasper: another shot of the porcelain jasper, this stuff is SO cool, i got this from Sands: and here is a close up of the amethyst sage (that i got from one of Bear's eBay auctions) and the ocean jasper. my back started to get tired or i'd still be down there, haha. had a minor problem getting the (#%$!) dop wax off the leopardskin cab, what a pain in the butt. i'm open to any tips out there for getting wax off that doesn't want to come of. most of the time it's pretty easy and a kitchen knife will scrape the residue off, but sometimes the (whole ball of) wax sticks like it has molecularly bonded to the stone. thanks for giving these a look! WoW those are gorgeous, you're really getting good at making these! What'cha going to do with them, any special plans? I really have no big desire to learn how to do cabs, but I'm amazed at those that you guys make. Still want to get a saw tho so I can cut some stuff to tumble and wrap. Thanks for sharing these KD ... I get to go back out to the mess and work on making more freakin lawn, like I really need that. I'd rather be in the basement too.

KD I've never cabbed (but I'd love to) but for the wax, didn't someone say to stick it in the freezer to get it off? I'm sure someone mentioned that before.à
I love the leopardskin jasper and of course the porcelain jasper *sighs dreamily* excellent job! I really love them all

Those are real beauty's KD. Very nice work. What are you using for polish? On a leather pad, canvas or what. I stick mine in the freezer for about 15 min. and "Pop", off it comes. Is that really black one Ocean Jasper as well? They are all great looking, nice Job!!

I refuse to look at any more of KD's creations- My wife said NO for a cabbing unit for fathers day so I am reduced to using my dremel- Then KD posts all this mouth watering pieces and it just makes me crazy! (get it!) Incredible Job KD- Oh and I spent most of the weekend in the basement shop also! This heat has been Unbelievable! Don't know how you Southerns stand it!

More perfect cabs from KD!!! They are all just beautiful. I just cut out a couple from the leopardskin. It's kind of soft. Is it hard to polish? Yours is beautiful. More porcelin Jasper polished up real nice. I'll try to send some pictures soon. Trish
