Finally got my dead soft wire so I decided to wrap a curvy cab... The jury is still out on if I like dead soft better or not. It's easier to work with but mars a little quicker. Thanks for looking!

Looks great. The swirls at the top look nice. Glad you got the dead soft wire. You'll get used to it. You just have to be light handed with your tools.

The swirls were definitely easier. I might also need different tools. Wanna hear a little secret? I've been using a set of Craftsman pliers and cutters that I had laying around since I began wrapping. Maybe it's time to upgrade...

I'd say it is definitely time for an upgrade. Better wire and then better tools and you'll be unstoppable.

Very nice- definitely one of your better ones. The swirls look real good, but the bail is wow- so much better!
Yes, better tools will help keep the nicks down.
When I use soft wire, I usually hammer the bail wires before I make the bail to make the wires more stiff. It makes for a better bail, I think.

Good looking wrap!! Top very attractive! Are you sure that’s jade? Looks like lawsonite/Blue G to me not an expert.

That’s a keeper miket! The craft wire has it’s good points also. It’s not $$ per foot and pairs with craftsman. Lol

Beautiful one, Mike!
You can clean up any little nicks with some diamond needle files or diamond polishing paper or even the silicone polishing wheels that you can use with your Dremel. Just go easy while you do it so you don't sand more metal away than you need to.
And yes, it's definitely time to get some "real" pliers.

Thanks Tela! Maybe I'll try hammering the bail and see how it goes, thanks for the tip. 😁

Thanks Tela! Maybe I'll try hammering the bail and see how it goes, thanks for the tip. 😁 Use a rawhide or rubber mallet so you don't mar the wire when you hammer it. Light taps is all it takes.

I am inspired by your good work and secret. Perhaps, I will get my fishing pliers and some snare wire to make my own wrap. Actually, I am waiting impatiently for a rock and mineral show, so I can buy some wire wrapping gear,. The shows for the summer are already cancelled. I might instead look online.

You know, I'm really having fun with it. It gives me something to do when I'm not hounding, cutting, grinding or tumbling....
