Last year I found an ad for a bucket of Obsidian for sale, in a little town close to here... I figured what the heck, buy it....
He held it for a week for me, than I finally made it over there, I couldn't believe what I was getting...
It was a bucket of Obsidian 64#'s worth... Their Great-grandfather had collected it from Glass Buttes in the 1940's... They weren't interested in the material at all and was cleaning the shop up.. So I bought it for their price of $15.00..
I offered more, but they said no, they just wanted it gone, so they wouldn't have to deal with it anymore....
I brought it home, sorted it out, sent some to Arkansas to get knapped, put a few pieces away for a rainy day... Well that day was yesterday....Hahahaha
I grabbed this piece and started slabbing it, every slab was kick butt cool! Every slab!!! Still have enough left to glue to a board and slab four more pieces from it..
