shows one of the sanding discs that I blew out too..........LOL It's not much but it works. Got the main piece from a guy at the rock shop for $30, got the motor out of a cooler in our park for free and then rigged it all up myself, got it all screwed to the board and setting on some saw horses. Bucket feeds water through a hose with gravity

What is it? Sorry but I have none of the special or extra equipment so I have no idea what it is really, I'm not making a joke.

Oh, sorry. Well, I have a grinding wheel that I attach to grind my rocks down, then I change it to sanding discs to sand and then I have a disc that is covered in leather for polishing

Looks like I was asking the same time you were explaining. *smile* Good for you on doing the stuff yourself, what kind of a grinding wheel do you have. Now that I know what it's for, I'm very impressed.

Okay, I'll be the first guy to say this..."I'm Impressed too!" I not ashamed to say it, and I'm even a Sheet Metal Worker. Way to make your own equipment. Steve

AWESOME GIRLIE!!! I got a set up very similar to that, but it's for faceting i've been paralized with fear that I'm going to screw this thing up. I'm looking for a motor that has variable speed, hubby is a carpenter so he can build the base for me. I'm really impressed, you have given me courage to move on in my project thanks!!! EXCELLENT WORK!!! Marian

WOW too cool- A homemade flat lap- Ok now for the questions? Sanding disks- What size and type and where did you get em? I see the pully underneath looks like it has several positions- can you change speed? And what kind of dog do you have (I saw the IAMS Tin!)

Thanks for all the complements everyone!!! Yeah, I could change the speed with the pullies but you see, I put a cooler motor on it and when I took the motor, I took the front piece of the cooler with the controls too. I cut all the stuff I didn't need off of it so I only had the control left. I drilled two holes into it on each side and attached it to the side of the deck so when I sit infront of the machine all I have to do is reach over and turn the knob off and on. The motor itself has 2 different speeds but I really only need the one speed. Sanding discs..........Sandsman told me of this great place where I ordered them. It's SantaFe Jewelers or something like that. If you're really interested, send me a private message and I'll try to locate the webbie for you. I use 8" Silicon Carbide Waterproof Sanding Discs and they're less than $2/piece I have a 220 silicon carbide grinding wheel on there but I want to get me a 80 grit as I'm really putting a hurting on the 220. Hope I answered all the questions. Oh, I have a Basenji/Miniature pinscher mix and a Rat Terrier That dog food can was the only thing I could find that was tall enough and sturdy enough for my gravity hose to work.........LOL

you are very welcome stefan yes, the basenji mix (her name is Peaches) can be something alright. Basenji's are known not to bark but since she has min pin in her she likes to bark at people she doesn't know. When she barks too much she starts to gag and sounds like she's choking most people are afraid of her when they first see her as she can look vicious when she barks and growls but she's more afraid than anything and I laugh at her. She wouldn't bite if you tried to make her..........LOL Snoopy, the rat terrier, she's a ham and a half. She'll lick you half to death if you let her and if she sees you with a blanket, she'll paw at it until you let her under it. Has to sleep as close as she can to me under the blankets at night. Feels like she's trying to craw right under my skin sometimes as she gets so close............hehe
