Here's the only batch that I've finished from the Green Utah rock. They are really nice, but I really am impressed with the darker ones. They turned out better than I would've thought....especially this being about my 3rd attempt at tumbling. I am going to be pickier when finding more of this stuff. The darker colored rocks were not too abundant. Steve

Steve-
Those are really, really nice. Where in Utah did you find those? What kind of tumbler are you using?
Hope the wife is hanging in there!

Wow! I really love it! I'm getting really curious about these green rocks that we are all turning up. Hopefully somebody can tell us what they are.

These look a lot like my lower grade mine run emeralds. Some were milky material with green inclusions or coloring. In its rough state in the other thread, it almost looks like calcite maybe? How soft does it seem to be? I'm not sure whether calcite will polish, anyhow? Does anybody know?

Thanks everybody.... That feels good that it looks like I am using some sort of special recipe! I just use what the Lortone says.... 1 week with 60/90 grit 2 week with 120/220 Grit 3 week with 500 & Finer and pellets 4 week Aluminum Oxide with pellets and instead of half water, I use half Karo Syrup and water too thicken up the slurry and cushion it a little more. I wished that you guys could figure out the rock...because I don't have a clue. It isn't soft though, almost like a green quartz. Gaetz, when I move back to Utah, we'll have to hook up. I'll be probably somewhere North of SLC...Bountiful,LAyton, Clinton....You're more than welcome to go out and do some hiking for this stuff! I'm still going to do a contest for some of my Utah Material.....COMING SOON! Steve

So are you moving back here for sure now that you've been laid off? Where did you grow up??
Well, anyway, hope things are going OK despite the recent nasty turn of events.
