Hey there all. My vintage saw is continually losing its power feed power while cutting. Several times while cutting I will need to stop the saw and tighten the set screws on the coupling attaching the power feed motor with the threaded rod. Anyone familiar with this issue? I am going to start by replacing the set screws, is this the fix or is there something more mechanical I will need to tackle. Thanks!

I had ongoing problem with the blade binding and set screws coming loose on my 16 inch Covington. I adjusted the clutch, dressed the blade and even bought some blue loc-tite and the problems continued. I scooped out a bunch of accumulated sludge and added some fresh oil (not an oil change) and all the binding problems wert away.

I recently replaced the feed clutch assembly, and the feed motor on my Beacon Star TC-14 and it made a lot of difference. Before it would cut, then stop cutting (no rod travel) then start up again. I didn't know at the time what the part was I was looking at so couldn't look for a replacement. I sent a picture to Don Depue at Diamond Pacific as they took over making the TC-14 and he was able to ID the part (feed clutch assembly). Do you have a manual or parts list/schematics for the Beacon Star TC-14?
