i resize my digital images with paintshop pro, i use pixel width 800 x 600 height and maintain aspect ratio of 1.3333 to 1..
works for me.

I use Paint Shop Pro too, love the program. It's great as you can export both jpegs and gif files and set the compression (for jpegs) higher to really lower the files size. I use between 400 and 600 pixels wide so they fit in the posts even at smaller resolutions like mine (800 x 600).

Those are beautiful. I use Paint as well to reduce, and I go to image, stretch/scew and reduce to 50% horizontally and virtically and then I reduce it to 75% of the size and that usually works great for sending through e-mail and other websites. Tami

Mark, those are beautiful! Definitely NOT for tumbling!
I use the photo program that came with my digital camera. Didn't know you could use paintshop pro! I also use 400 to 600 pixels. I do wish everybody would take the time to learn how to resize their pics - it's not hard and sure makes it easier to actually view the pics. And sure messes up a thread when a huge pic is posted. Sometimes I can't even download the entire pic.

To be honest I dont know what they are, I'd guess at Quartz which has grown on the lava base - which in itself seems very brittle and porous (basalt?) - and yet the whole chunks themselves are heavy to hold.
I saw what I did with the photos - in paintshop it says at the top 1:3 - so I didnt have it at full size on the screen - it was shown at 3x size when I saved it - duh and the reduction was compression in terms of the jpg.
Yeah - not for the tumblers - I think if they went in there they would probably be mud within a week (I did that with some amber from a friend once!!)
They may end up on the fireplace for a while these.
