I have a 16 inch combo saw. The Covington has a clutch and the user needs to be familiar with properly adjusting it. The set screws on the arbor tend to loosen from vibration. They recommend blue loc-tite which I bought but haven't used. When working properly the saw is very good. The clutch allows faster cutting but when not adjusted properly the blade will bind. Well made saw and good customer support.

I also have the 16 inch combo. Mine in weight feed. You can always rely on gravity. The set screw on the arbor pully will come loose from vibration. Blue loc-tite solved this problem. Other than that I have had zero issues with the saw for the 15 years I've had it. I love my saw.

Thanks for the welcom and info on Covington saw. Was wondering how it worked as a trim saw without drenching you with oil. I always worry about a machine that says it will do more than one job They usually do neither well

There's a drop in table top. I've never used it as a trim saw and don't even know where the part is. I replaced the 16 inch blade with a 14 inch .065. The 16 inch is .085. The 14 inch costs less, wastes less material because it is narrower and I don't cut really large rough. My trim saw is 8 inch diameter with a .032 width and is cooled with water. Frequently my trim cuts are tight and I like the narrower blade. The Covington has a flip top lid that allows me to push the rock into the blade to start a cut without spraying oil. Maybe the trimming function is done the same way.
