Your factory clamp is great for multiple slabs.
For a single cut in thin material, your simple cut with a place for the blade, Who could ask for anything more?

TURD TUESDAY Here's one right off the saw. In these photos you can see a home made clamp I sometimes use to grip them. I've heard of having to hold your poo...butt this takes it to another level!! LOL Great looking clamp Randy!!

Thanks for showing your clamp setup, Randy! That looks like a very effective clamp and much sturdier than many of the geode/thunderegg clamps I’ve seen. No wonder you get such nice cuts on those coprolites! The other thing I do to get good cuts is I regularly peen my blade with the edge of a big bastard file.

I went through a dry spell of not cutting coprolites and recently fired the saws back up. I forgot how exhilarating it is to cut one in half and see what's inside. What a joy!

TURD TUESDAY This one has a micro gastrolith at 11 o'clock. These little red jasper gastroliths are often a common denominator among coprolites found in southern Utah. I've read that some researchers claim dinosaurs regurgitated gastroliths but I've found them of all sizes inside coprolites, especially these small ones. I doubt the research folks cut many open.

Sometimes I get into a cutting frenzy and just have to cut up a big pile of turds. First I wash off any dirt so it doesn't contaminate my saw oil. When I pull them out of the saw they get buried in kitty litter to soak up the oil. Next I soak them in a bucket of hot soapy water then I scrub them with a nylon bristle brush and toss them in a bucket of clear water. Finally I lay them out in matched pairs on a large flat gneiss boulder and wet them so I can grade them.

Awesome looking stuff Randy! Thanks for sharing! Once it cools down a little here in Central Texas I'll fire the saw back up and cut some coprolite!

You just never know what is hidden inside those things. Yesterday I cut all day long as I was cleaning the garage. (and she says I can't multi task) I was getting bummed because I was getting a lot of duds but then a couple dandys appeared and suddenly life was sweet again.

Yeah that white one with the web of grey agate holding it all together is pretty spectacular!

That is an awesome spread of poop, Randy! It really highlights the variety you get. I can see some clear winners in that group, but honestly, all of them are interesting in their own way.

Dendritic poop??? Yep, it's dendritic which doesn't seem super common around here but I wouldn't say it's rare either.
