Thanks Randy! It's fun to see the difference and transformation between 80 grit and the final piece. I will say this one didn't get the perfect mirror finish and I attributed that to the piece having a lot of different hardnesses and some pitting. Might stick the next one in the tumbler and see if it's me or the rock.

You're right about the many different hardnesses and It's a rare coprolite that doesn't have this issue. In fact, it's so prevalent in this medium I think it can be one of the factors used to identify coprolite from other stones.

Here's another one Alex made that matches the one he posted a few days ago. I'm pretty impressed with it. agatewhisperer

Beautiful and I love the shape. He made good use of some old poop.

Thanks RWA3006! Yep that was the same slab! The polish really highlights the corn in that one 🤪

Did it swallow a turtle? And what is with all the dots on the surface? Sand?

I'm trying to figure out how to interpret this one and am at an impasse. It could be a cross section of a bundle of twigs or one single large limb? It very much reminds me of a photo jamesp posted of shrink wood a few pages back. I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts.

We might have to think outside the box on this one. For example scientist, Karen Chin, a foremost coprolite expert found that hadrosaurs sometimes ate chunks of rotten wood from fallen logs.
