I've seen the flecks in other specimens and they range from an off white to yellow. They seem to float in the transparent chalcedony and I haven't been able to figure out what they are. I think they're too big to be pollen and I probably ought to look at them under a microscope.

Yeah, my comment was a deliberate understatement. It's a bit undercut at 10X magnification and I'm thinking of giving it a HXTAL treatment to smooth it out. Haven't decided yet.

I just showed the photo to several people who know nothing about cabs and coprolites. They were amazed at the beauty. Bravo, you did well.

Here's today's coprolite cab. It's the remainder of the slab I used to cut the cab posted above. They say you can't polish a turd but both of them polished up pretty nicely. I have a few more in process.

TURD TUESDAY

A horrific tragedy was narrowly averted today. In almost four years I forgot it was TURD TUESDAY until just now. I guess I was so mesmerized by Rick's cabs I just spaced it out and only by the grace of the gods of the Jurassic do I remember to post a photo before the day ends.
