Thanks, Randy! The backside really doesn’t look all that much different from the others. If anything, I would say it looks a little more dense/finer crystal structure (for lack of a more technical definition) than some of the others. I bet it was a pleasant surprise when you saw the inside!

This one came home with me. Comparatively speaking, it looks to me like that's a pretty decent sized one. Also, it looks from the picture to be flattened out a little. I wonder if it will have that greenish/yellow interior... ETA - I guess that would be mus"turd" yellow! LOL

Here are a couple odd things I saw in coprolite from Randy. A metallic spot that resembles pyrite. One of the red veins seemed to agatize in small odd sections similar to dino bone. I keep pondering this remarkable specimen shown by rockstock Yesterday a friend of mine showed me a beautiful cab made from marcasite which reminded me of the specimen so I looked it up and it appears we have a candidate for the mystery metal spot. geology.com/minerals/marcasite.shtml

Here's some beautiful marcasite swimming in a sea of agate, similar to the metal spot in the agate of coprolite. Thoughts?

I saw the link before the extra reply with the picture. That's pretty close resemblance. Since they look similar(marca and pyrite) probably whatever makes the most sense for formation or ingestion.

I noted the article said the marcasite can be more silver than yellow. Would you say your piece is silver or yellow?

Let the fecal festivities begin...Randy just dropped another 1 on us. Many moons ago I was the electrician on a sewage expansion project. The workers there claimed they were members of the Fecal Floggers of America.

TURD TUESDAY Is this the same revolving pic you use of a full pickup truck bed (to make us drool) or do you actually fill it up every time you go out?

TURD TUESDAY Is this the same revolving pic you use of a full pickup truck bed (to make us drool) or do you actually fill it up every time you go out? If you compare photos you'll see the pickup models and colors are different. That's because I often rent a truck instead of using my own. I have a nephew in the rental business so I get good deals and it preserves my Titan. And yes, it's fun to torment my RTHling pals with photos.
