the crosses & heart are real nice, are you gonna tumble those or use the grinder on them to polish them up? I wanted to make a cross for my daughters first communion, but I ended up buying one out of swarovski crystal instead to make a pendant for her on memory wire. Excellent job - bet you can't wait for the grinder??

Crosses are pretty easy- I cut the square block (the sodalite) then use the diamond cutoff wheel for the dremel to get in closer- then I take the diamond burrs on the dremel and grind grind grind. I was gonna tumble these at first but with a grinder coming tomorrow- I think the will be polished on it (at least the flat faces) Yea I actually do need more tumblers- I was all bummed because I was almost out of course grit- then I started to clean this AM and I found a pound of course and a pound of 120/220!!! Yep life is good!

Hey Stefan, It was either Ron (Michiganrocks) or Banjo, maybe both that made some really nice crosses. Maybe they can give you some tips so they don't break.

As far as crosses go, I cut them out just the way you did and had about half a dozen. Just for the nuts of it threw them all in the tumbler with a bunch of rough just like I would any other rock. And guess what? They all held together just fine. No breakage and they polished up nice. I was surprised, I thought I'd lose an arm or something, but 'Nope' they went all the way through with the rest of the stuff "Fear not, O tumbler of rocks".

Thanks Tami- I'm starting to get the hang of the tile saw- It takes some time but it does cut some pretty good size stuff-
