I've been looking for some Blue Mountain, preferably slabs. It is not easy to find good quality. I bought a 3 1/2 pound parcel of rough on ebay. The smaller piece wasn't faced but the skin was gone. I saw enough that I estimated that I could break even with the slabs and cabs from the smaller piece. The larger piece showed nothing. When they arrived, the larger piece had skin. I faced it in two directions and nothing showed. I took a slab off the other end and there was a slight pattern on one side so I abandoned it because I knew what remained.
I slabbed the small piece and got two good slabs and two better slabs. The first slab (upper left) may be usable. The fifth slab is still on the board and looks just like the one bottom right. I at least broke even on the purchase, not factoring in time.
