sands i'll have to get some close ups tomorrow when it's light and wet them. we stopped at wright's rock shop and got these big rocks. i think that's mook on the right and a jasper on the left. all kinds of goodies! nobody at the rock shop could tell me what kinds so i was on my own to try to identify and pick. they had lots and lots of huge beautiful rocks outside and i wanted them all. they are too big for me to saw. i'll have to whack them to saw them.

You lucky guys! Wish more of us could have come on the great american rock hunting adventure...too bad work has to get in the way of all the fun, fun, fun! ;D Looks like you got some neat BIG ROCKS! What are those in the back of your SUV? They look really colorful. I've been good while you guys were away having a great time...didn't buy 1 rock or mountain while you were away! ;D I'm holding out until I see more african rocks..LOL! Love the ones I already bought, you know the feeling, more, more and more!!!! Have a great night out there! I would have got the uhaul too! I think the fall and spring would be a great time to go there, as my aunt has told me it can get really hot there...looking forward to getting there too!

Glad you made it home O.K. Kim. It was so great to meet you all and I hope you had a good time. You do have a load of rocks! I'm going back to Hot Springs in the morning. The guy promised he would be there this time to show me the saws. Hopefully, tomorrow I will have my saw and can see the inside of all these beautiful rocks. Hope we can get a big group together next time in cooler weather and really dig some crystal. Trish

Gee Kim...sure wish you could have found some rocks on that trip.....You did good!!! I found the website for Colemans and WOW..does he ever have the stuff and at good prices too. Wife wants to go to his mine too. Glad you guys had a great time, the kids had fun and perhaps we can do this again in the fall...a little cooler then and now that you have been there you will be better prepared next time. I sent you a load of pictures I took. Didn't want to post those here until you had a chance to see them.

Kim Shame on you- Those seats in the Durango fold down!!!! And I think you have a roof rack to strap any passenger to (LMAO) I haul a 35 ft camper and yes a slow trailer does insight road rage!!!! I always try to pull over and let em pass but it seems you always get the Yahoo on your arse when there is no plase to pass! Oh well if everyone was perfect then we would not have anyone to compare to! Nice haul- and good plan distracting the hubby with ham and goddies!

stefan my group was piling bags in the suv on sunday morning and saying i wasn't gonna have room to bring rocks home. we had a river behind our cabin so i told them if push came to shove i'd send those bags off floating on the last day to get my rocks home.
i've been a busy bee this morning getting all the rocks unloaded and since i have the u-haul anyway i brought all the african rocks from the office to the house where i can get them photographed, weighed, etc. i hate to take the u-haul back lol. whooped after moving all those rocks. the whole side of my house is rocks. i'm fixing to say my goodbyes to the little u-haul trailer and go return it.
the shop is being delivered tomorrow (isn't tomorrow saturday??) so we have to get the forklift from the office to the house too. i'm going to let my husband worry about that.

Hey Kim...could have put the kids on the bus....more room for rocks that way. You will be wanting to take a day or two off now....I was worn out when I got home and I know you were too. Glad the kids had such fun looking for rocks. Now we can start planning our next trip to Mt Ida area hmmmm?

What kind of shop are you getting, Kim? Will this be your shop? Sounds like you have enough to go into business. Trish

I think Judy's is the nicest. It's just not cheap. The cheapest one is here in Mena, but you really have to do some dealing. Trish
