OMG What was that with the tables? Was there a rock show there too? That glass and rose quartz is awesome, man what I wouldn't give for some of that. Looks like you guys had a blast, that looks like so much fun. I'm glad everyone came home safely.

The tables were at the Wegner Mine store. You should see the inside of the store. (they did not want me to take pictures inside). They got crystals in there that will make you weak in the knees..drool...make a fool of yourself in public even. The big tree has crystals all around it.... There are a lot of very nice rock stors around there..especially Judy"s...I will try to find a link for you on that one. Kim and her bunch went nuts at Judy's....should have warned them to bring a drooling towel..

Oh, wow.......look at all those rocks.....how many lbs did you bring back with you? Is that rose quartz as big as it looks in that pic?
I think I would have wanted to bring back a truckful myself.

TK...those rose quartz pieces were hugh....very big. Yeah..we brought back a good load. I ended up with 6 five gallon buckets of rocks plus a truck load of stuff too big to put in a bucket. Could have picked up a lot more....but was getting way too tired....

I should have done a better job on the pics. The mine where you see us digging is Gee and Dee's Crystal Mine....$20 a day per person. The phone number for them is 870-867-4561...they are very nice people. If you have a chance to visit them please do so. The Wegner Mine is also $20 per day per person but they have a $200 minumum requirement so I still haven't been t their mine. Judy's has a small working area (the pictures with all the trees in the background) were we found some real nice stuff...at $10 a day per person...well worth it. I truly hope we can get another trip up this fall.

Those of you that are interested in tumbling glass, I can always get you a bunch of colored glass to tumble. There's a lot of it here in Mena. I will have to check the price. It might be higher than that in Mt. Ida, but if enough people want it, I can probably go over and get you some. Trish

By the way Pho, I see you did get pictures of me. Didn't even see you take them. Now you have to post pictures of yourself! Glad you had a good time. Kim is going mining again in the morning and then coming here to go to the rock shops with me. We'll have to do it again this fall when it's cooler. Trish

pho & trish we had such a wonderful time! (love that buns of stone shot you got there pho). we went to queen wilhemenia mountain resort and viewed arkansas from way up yonder, played some put-put golf, visited an animal rescue zoo, got lost in the national forest which was kinda scarey, went canoeing, went to wegner's to hunt crystals, and trish found a fellow who recently bought tons and tons of rocks and he let us come to his house/shop and buy rocks at such a steal. i had stuffed so many rocks in the back of my durango that on weds we had to go get a u-haul or leave our luggage behind cause those rocks were coming home with me lol. all of arkansas is probably happier now that i'm gone with my little trailer driving around at 40-45 mph. amazing how that seems to really spur some road ragers when you drive around real slow and they can't pass. definitely want to do this again in the fall. we wanted to stay longer at wegner's but were so hot i was afraid one of us might really fall out. i was told we realllly need to go to either of the coleman brother's mines in jessieville. i stopped at an arkansas country smoke shop type store on the way home and got my hubby some smoked ham, smoked ribs, pickled baby corn, mustard eggs, preserves, and homeade breads and cakes. oh yeah he was so happy with his goodies he hardly noticed that u-haul lol. oh and we were all 5 in the hot-tub when we heard something bumping around our cabin and you have never seen such a bunch of wet nuts running around. turned out to be a raccoon but since we'd seen those bears and cougars at the rescue zoo we were knocking each other over getting out of there lol. here's what i came home with kim
