I get to decide what I work on. I spent 8 minutes sanding, prepolishing and polishing a cab that I will never be sold because of a fracture. I liked it so I finished it. Ignore the hair.

It certainly has a attractive pattern. Not worth trying to heal it and disclosing that in a listing?

There is a line drawn but what can be sold. Surface fractures and vugs for some material like Koroit or Morgan Hill. This fracture goes from front to back. I survived grinding and the glued dop being removed. I'll take it off the dop and then try to break it with my fingers. For slabs, when it looks like it could break, I try to break it.
My naïve opinion is disclose and let the buyer decide as long as I don't think it will fall apart. My wife along with most people think that approach is stepping over the line.

I usually give things like that away as a freebie to buyers, and let them decide what to do, or not do, with it. Then again, some I keep, some I use for tumbling media, and some I set free into the wild. It's a bit random

I took the cab out of the freezer and the stick didn't want to come off. I went to plan b which is to put a razor blade between the dop and the cab and give it a good whack with a utility knife. The cab came off the dop so I needed to scrape off the glue and then: That answered the question about the fracture. I completed the cab and got a picture of it. I don't collect cabs, I collect cab picture so it was all good. It was a relatively clean break so I could glue it back together and not worry about the fracture, but I'm done.

I looked out the window and saw two fawns munching on live oak. I tapped on the window to get their attention. It's getting dark. Another day at the deer sanctuary.

Too bad about the cab! The deer with the munchies are cute though.
