What is that in the first pic? I found something very similar on the 4th of July at the Colorado River.

Nice, thanks for sharing the photos. Absolutely! I have another one I found today, not too impressive, but I'll try to remember to add a pic tomorrow. Very cool. You're making me itch to get back up there again! You'll have to give me some pointers on the Fairburns...I'm just getting "burned"! LOL Nice looking fossils... Last one is a trace fossil.. Very true. Thank you for pointing that out. What is that in the first pic? I found something very similar on the 4th of July at the Colorado River. I hope someone chimes in on that as well. I've found several of them in my river rock here at the house as well as out at Railroad Buttes!

First one might be horn coral. Nice finds.

First one might be horn coral. Nice finds. Thanks for that! I think you might be right. I Googled some pics of the horn corral. While most of the pics show a cornucopia type shape, there are several that closely resemble these...

Found this beauty out yesterday. I put it in my cargo pants pocket (my place for rocks while walking), and there was a VERY distinct "tink" coming from this every time I put another rock in my pocket!

This one I'm "sheepishly" posting in here because I have NO clue. It looks like a vertebrae to me. I'm not claiming this is a fossil, so if anyone has any input, I'm all ears.

My wife asked me to post pics of her find from the other day. She's convinced it's fossil, I'm not convinced. Any input is welcome...

I'm assuming if bone, it will scorch? If fossil, it won't? That’s right, it would be an impressive fossil find, hopefully it doesn’t burn! So, I told my wife about your reply the other night. I asked her if we should put the lighter to it to take a look...she said "Not right now..." I'm guessing she's afraid of the outcome...

So, I told my wife about your reply the other night. I asked her if we should put the lighter to it to take a look...she said "Not right now..." I'm guessing she's afraid of the outcome... That’s funny, thanks for a good laugh! Let me help settle this. After taking a closer look I’m convinced without a doubt that the find is a fossil, and a significant one at that. Possibly even museum quality, you should take her rockhounding more often as she clearly has an eye for it. I sheepishly had to read my wife my post in order to read her yours! LOL She is grinning from ear to ear and wanted me to tell you "thank you" for posting this! I am curious if we'll ever figure out what it is - or rather what it was from... Thank you again, you made her night!

My father, who happens to be my neighbor, had a friend of his come visit this morning. He brought his friend over to look at the rocks I've been hounding. While he was over here, I showed him the latest fossil. He said he's found tons of these around this area. He said it's from a belemnite. I did a Google search after he left and it really does appear to be what he said...

Here's what I believe to be some type of petrified corral. I don't believe it's a horn corral.as it's not the right shape.
