Sad that only 3 survived. Yeah, I don't candle the eggs when they are laid so I don't cull out the 'empty' eggs to start. In addition: the camera and the LED lights inside my time lapse incubator radiate heat-I factor these in as constant heat sources when I store thermal energy in water bottles as a buffer. However, when I lose power multiple times...the effect is more severe than my regular incubators which are not relying on the two additional constant heat sources.

Photo #185 Some local river stones. I've tumbled far too many of these, but, they always take a high polish.

It is wishful thinking that my cats might be interested in the rocks...there is in fact an asian lady beetle hiding in the pile about to have a real bad day...

Photo #186 A heavily pitted piece of agate. From a distance it looks cool, but, up close you can see a lot of...'character'. After rotary grind I vibed it for a while to remove some of the minor surface imperfections. I thought about breaking off the top half while it was still rough, but, there are more pits on the other side and even smaller pieces would still be flawed.

Photo #189 These stones are at their limit: Tumbling them any further would not improve them.

Finished a batch of green stones I dug out of the woods while hiking (MA-Worcester County). In the wild: Dry: Wet: Tumbled/Polished: Photo #192 I think the consensus in the forum a while back is that it was a form of Serpentine. I have tumbled Serpentine from the West Coast with better results. The material is porous and relatively unstable: Any areas with orange split during tumble. Some other local rocks in the photo for variation.

Photo #193 Ironstone concretions perhaps? They look a lot 'cleaner' after I tumbled them. I am very pleased with the final polish (for a sedimentary stone).

This photo is mostly South Dakota Prairie Agates from The Rock Shed. I'm just eye-balling stones that look similar for my photos. The camera is better at catching detail on a group. I have rough material from all over the world....so pretty much anything goes.

Well no wonder they look familiar! I have a "few" milk crates full of those! LOL
Whenever I wander through the yard at the Rock Shed, the Prairie Agate bin is the only bin I pass by without looking in! LOL
