Yesterday I decided to slice some open some of the mystery rocks I collected on the North Sulfur river trip. Some were brown chert duds but two of them were very interesting. I am not sure what they are. I haven't cut anything like it before. They were super hard. Thinking mohs 7 ish. The insides have odd inclusions in them. Under the lupe they appear to be floating inside. This one has what looks like golden sprays or rutulations. And this one has strange patterns and what looks like pores. Views of the outer structure. I know the river is filled with creteaceous and ice age fossils. Could they be dino bone?

Not bone, but agate.

Well thats pretty neat. I had no idea we had agate around here, let alone Moss agates. Now I have a new favorite place to hunt. Just have to dodge the coyotes and wild boars. Someone also warned me about quicksand in the area. Who knew. I thought that was just a movie thing. Oops. Thanks so much for the help on the ID.
