A few months ago I bought a parcel of small Tahoma rough. Tahoma is a seam agate and should generally be cut across the seam so the pattern goes through the slab. I had a small piece that was too thin to cut against the seam. I put it away. I don't throw out much because sometime it is hard to tell what can never be used. The piece was about 1/2 inch thick with matrix on both sides and one side relatively flat. Sometimes I grind off the matrix but I thought I could make one slab shaving off the matrix with my slab saw. Everything worked out and I ended up with a .22 inch slab with an atypical pattern. It looks a little like frogskin and have made some cabs with the pattern in the past. The pattern goes all the way through.

Nice looking material.
I suspect that most out here easily identify with "I don't throw out much as it might be used". It's in the DNA of most Rockhounds!!
